I grew up in Louisville, Kentucky and received my bachelor’s degree in math from Georgia Tech in 2010. In 2015 I received my Ph.D. in Economics from UC Berkeley, where my fields were macroeconomics and economic history. I then moved to the Philadelphia area to take a job at Haverford College, a small liberal arts college with about 1300 undergraduates. I recently was awarded tenure at Haverford.
My research focuses on inflation expectations, monetary policy, central bank communication, and the politics of central banking. I have also done some economic history work on the Great Depression and Korean War eras.
I got married and had my first baby when I was in graduate school. Now we have 4 young children and they are such a blessing! We live in faculty housing on campus.
