Our own Ted Tsukahara was named “Professor of the Year” at Saint Mary’s College of California. The University’s article on his award highlights his unique qualities and his dedication to service but also his great sense of humor. Ted is also an Affiliated Member of the Brothers of the Christian Schools. Read the award article here.
The award article also intentionally link’s to Ted’s childhood internment camp experience from 1942 to 1944, after Executive Order 9066 signed by President Roosevelt authorized the military to remove and incarcerate in internment camps 120,00 American citizens or residents of Japanese descent. He recounts his family’s experience and the importance of remembering these ugly chapters of America’s history here.
